Background
I'm Michael Bell, CEO of Travel Ledge, Inc. My wife Julie and I were high school sweethearts and now have 3 wonderful children. All my children have been bitten by the entrepreneurial spirit. Together we are launching the Travel Ledge. We all live in Bend Oregon and enjoy biking, hiking, rafting, and just about any outdoor activity. Mostly we love to travel and explore this amazing world we live in, but we need our own space.
The Starting Point
For the last 25 years I have been a road warrior traveling the country selling IT services. I have mastered the art of travel, the latest I can arrive for a departing flight, best hotels in most major cities, where to eat and where not to eat at most US airports, rental car locations and how to best exit the airport. I can continue with all my lessons learned but the one challenge I could never achieve was space. Crowded airports, dirty eating tables, no quiet space, standing with my drink on the ground, my laptop balancing on one hand and my cell phone in the other, If I could find a seat my laptop end up, yes, in my lap. I noticed families traveling with kids playing games on the very well-traveled ground and then there was Covid. Out of complete frustration and necessity I set out to find my own space.
The Destination
My challenge was how do I create my own space? something I could take with me, it had to be lightweight, it had to be easy and quick to use, it had to be conveniently packed into my carry-on or laptop bag, it had to be wipeable, it had to be sturdy, it had to have a place for my cell phone and charger, it had to make my life easier!
