Identify the handle configuration
Extend the luggage handle fully and look below the grip. A two-post telescoping handle has two separate vertical posts. A single-post or unusually enclosed handle may require a different accessory design.
- Count the exposed vertical posts.
- Note locks, grips, housings, and curved sections.
- Check whether the posts stay parallel when fully extended.
Measure post spacing
For Travel Ledge, use a rigid ruler or tape measure at the height where the accessory will sit. Measure from the center of one post to the center of the other. A compatible spacing is 4–8 inches center-to-center.
- Fully extend and lock the handle first.
- Measure twice and keep the ruler level.
- Confirm both posts stay firm rather than wobbling or collapsing.
- Take a clearly labeled photo of the measurement for support questions.
Check clearance and luggage shape
An accessory may need open space around the posts and above the suitcase body. Check whether the handle grip, release button, fabric, or molded luggage shell interferes with the intended position.
- Extend the handle completely.
- Look for tapering or angled posts.
- Check that the luggage can stand still on a level floor.
Use exact product guidance
Do not assume that every two-post suitcase will fit every accessory. Travel Ledge requires two separate, stable, unobstructed telescoping posts spaced 4–8 inches center-to-center.
